Overview
PURPLE:
Mercury MLT222 Purple Lite Thread locker is a general purpose, medium-high strength, thixotropic* anaerobic** thread locker. The product cures when confined in the absence of air on close-fitting metal surfaces.
APPLICATIONS: MLT222 is formulated to lock all metric and imperial nuts and bolts, preventing vibration loosening and leakage through the threads. MLT222 is slightly oil tolerant, so it will bond some ‘as received’ parts, but best results are obtained with clean substrates. The thixotropic nature of the product prevents run off, dripping and migration after assembly. MLT222 is typically used on mounting bolts, housing screws, etc. MLT222 prevents corrosion of assembly parts.
USEFUL HINTS/NOTES: The higher viscosity material can create a thick film when bonding uneven surfaces or large gaps.
BLUE:

RED:
Mercury MLT271 Red is a single component, high strength (permanent) anaerobic** thread locker. MLT271 cures when confined in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces.
APPLICATIONS: MLT271 is formulated to lock metal fasteners thus preventing vibration loosening and leakage through the threads. MLT271 is particularly suitable for larger threaded fasteners, e.g. studs and all applications where maximum strength is needed. MLT271 prevents corrosion of assembly parts.
USEFUL HINTS/NOTES: The higher viscosity material can create a thick film when bonding uneven surfaces or large gaps. The Application of heat may be required to assist in removal of parts.
GREEN:
Mercury Green Retaining Compound is a single part, low viscosity, fast curing anaerobic** resin used for bonding rigid assemblies of all types. It can also be used effectively to increase the strength of most mechanical assemblies.
APPLICATIONS: MRT09 locks keys and splines. Eliminates backlash in worn assemblies. Locks bearings in place, preventing spin-out. Bonds rotor to shafts in fractional and sub fractional horsepower motors. Locks bushings and sleeves in housings and on shafts. Augments press fits. Restores the fit to worn assemblies or out-of-tolerance parts.
USEFUL HINTS/NOTE: This lower viscosity product is recommended for interference or close fitting parts where large gap filling is not required.
* Thixotropic: The property exhibited by certain gels of becoming fluid when stirred or shaken and returning to the semisolid state upon standing.
** Anaerobic: A descriptive term for a process, such as curing, that can proceed in the absence of oxygen.
