Santa Fe "Super Chief" Cars - Assembled Budd 63' Railway Post Office HO scale   A red and silver lightning bolt flashes across the desert floor as Santa Fe's "Super Chief" streaks by! Offering the finest, fastest daily service between Chicago and Los Angeles, the train was a favorite with celebrities and the rich and powerful. Now, Santa Fe's flagship rolls once more in these superb HO Scale models, based on cars assigned to the train in the mid-1950s.   With all the features found on Walthers passenger cars, this collection of authentic Santa Fe equipment features razor-sharp paint and lettering, plus correct car name and number decals to build the complete train. Each car also includes a complete set of add-on wire grab irons, and molded drill starter points on the body simplify installation. Like the prototype, the model "Super Chief" will include equipment from Budd and Pullman-Standard. The excitement begins in January 2004, with the unveiling of the all-new Budd "Pine" Series 10-6 Sleeper (#932-9001). Each month through August, another new Super Chief car will be available and the series consists of eight individual cars:   932-9001 Budd "Pine" Series 10-6 Sleeper   932-9002 Budd 73' Baggage Car   932-9003 Pullman-Standard 36-Seat Diner   932-9004 Pullman-Standard 29-Seat Dormitory-Lounge   932-9005 Pullman-Standard 4-4-2 Sleeper ("Hotevilla" Series)   932-9006 Pullman-Standard Pleasure Dome   932-9007 Budd 63' Railway Post Office   932-9008 Pullman-Standard "Vista" Series Observation-Lounge   The eight cars make a perfect layout-sized train, but additional sleepers can easily be added to model an authentic consist.   To complete the "Super Chief," Walthers and Athearn Genesis are teaming up on a special run of Santa Fe's signature F units. Resplendent in traditional Passenger Warbonnet colors, and featuring the road's unique numbering, two HO Scale sets will be offered. The first #141-99041 includes a powered F7A (#47L) and B Unit (#47A). The second set #141-99042 features a dummy F7B (#47B) and A Unit (#47C).   Each Super Chief car is designed to accept Walthers Passenger Car Interior Lighting Kits, (#933-1049 sold separately). These drop-in units come fully assembled and include complete instructions for installation in various types of Walthers cars.
